Iceland Invades NSMW 2008
Music Nova Scotia is pleased to announce that Nova Scotia Music Week 2008 will have an international component this year.
Along with the domestic buyers program including 24 Bringin’ it Home community presenters, Atlantic Canadian buyers and Canadian music industry professionals, the conference will host three key industry professionals from Reykjavik, Iceland. Iceland is viewed not only as a trendsetting music market in its own right, but also the passport to markets in the UK and Europe for musicians.
These key professionals were chosen from a long list of interested parties during Music Nova Scotia’s recent trip to Iceland to explore the music market and to open up opportunities for Nova Scotian artists. The trade mission was made possible with support from the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage.
Nova Scotia Music Week delegates will have an opportunity to connect with these industry professionals during the 5 Minute Pitch to Buyers on Friday, November 7, 5 p.m. and again at the NEWLY ADDED Focus on Iceland info session Saturday, November 8, 11:40 a.m.–12:20 p.m. at the Museum of Industry in Stellarton.
